PHL finalists are almost decided. Orissa steelers with there consistent performance have already in to the final with 25 points from 11 matches. They will be most probably joined by shers.

warriors after arrival of jamie dwayer changed there performance and were hunting for the championship. They had a good team but the game maker was missing and jamie dwayer a aussies import was great in this role. He made moves, created lots opportunities and was certainly the best of the lot. His arrival made warriors look a great team. But his departure unsettled warriors to a great level and they lots yesterdays match against steelers by a big margin. Play makers are extremely necessary in any team.

If we look at the steelers they seems to have a team with not many stars, but they play as a team. Thats there plus point. No ego issues. I always liked dilip's spirit and this PHL made me his fan. He is a down to earth genius. He managed his troops really well. One cannot forget the role played by Mario Almada in this steelers line up. He is as important as Dwayer for warriors.

I think sultans are paying because of bad planning and coaching. Mukesh Kumar should not be made a coach in any PHL again. They have a team of stars but ......

Veerans played well in patches and that its about them ....

Lions seems to be a good side , with coach but there seems to be a ego clash or some kind of problem between there strikers Tushar and Rehan. That clash has killed them , even thou they still have a hypothetical chance to enter the finals.

I think PHL in coming years will take Indian Hockey to a great heights and there will be a continuous rise in the followers of the game.

If Without Upsets all the team go to super eight then we will be having a super eight table some thing like , Semifinalists wiil be : IND, SAF, WI and AUS/NZ

I want India to win the cup but i think this list below I feel is the possibility of teams can win the cup in that order. South Africa certainly are the hot fav's to win the cup, followed by aus. Then we have IND, NZ, PAK, SL, WI in the same level followed by England. The last bunch is BAN, KEN and ZIm. You cannt go beyond that predicting a winner even with you wildest imagination.

In this group there is just no possibility of any upset, Not even by a wild imigination there will be a upset in this group.

Group B (Srilank, India, Bangladesh, Bermuda)
Bermuda is really a no hoper in this group. Bangladesh is not exactly a strong team or a contender for super eight. But one victory against bermuda plus one more upset win over sri lanka or india can see them through to super eight. This possibility has a little chance, but there is a chance for bangladesh. Srilankan Batting looks fragile at times.

WC 2007 : Analysis and Prediction - I

WC is only a few days away now, there will be a lot of action since all the major teams are at same level and there will be no lawless, ruthless rule by Aussies emperor.

When overall graphs , compared to performances in last 20 and 10 ODI's played. Winning percentage, Batting Avg and Bowling avg are compared for the above mentioned three situations. It can be seen that Bangladesh has performed excellently well. But the fact that cannot be ignored is that they played all the matched against Zim or low ranked teams. South Africa and pretty impressive in home series which were played during this time. Australia is under pressure after a long time thats a great news for cricketing world.

Statistics dont give us any hot fav but southafrica seems to have a good chance as compared to others.

There are not many surprises except in form and dashing Robin Uthappa. I think Sachin will play in middle order. Sourav ganguly will be joined by Uthappa or less likely sehwag. Think Tank ( ??? ) may use sehwag in middle order.

D karthik will also be there in middle order. Yuvraj is not exactly in form, he hasnot played too many games after the surgery. R Dravid seems to be struggleing since last few matches. Middle order depends on Dhoni. Thats why to give some strength sachin will bat at four and may be sehwag at 7 or 8.

bowling will be spearheaded by zaheer khan and supported by agarkar, munaf/sreesant, bhajan/ kumble.

Finally watched guru. I was waiting for this movie because this is a maniratnam movie. I felt songs were unnecessory even thou picturised beautifully, as it is the case with all maniratnam songs. It was gripping , well acted movie but when the movie ended i felt that there is something missing or somekind of a incomplete movie. Basically message of the movie was not clear.

Then i had to go to wikipedia to understand the basic problem. After reading this article , first thing that i realised was that all the charectas in the movie are real.

As it is the case with all the maniratnam movies he generally tries to present the other views. Here he basically tried to present the class struggle. The well know wadia and ambani struggle, beurocracy.

Abhishek really played the charectar well. overall a good movie if you can get the message.

This is song is for those who enjoyed sutta by zeest. Its funny with good music and funky lyrics. This band BODHITREE they are from Jamshedpur. I tried to find some of there other songs. I could find four of them. They have a real varity and class.
